General

  1. What countries are you operating in and why? [+]
We are currently only permitted to sell music in the US!

Which means that you can't buy music from YogiTunes in Canada or any other country for that matter. As soon as we prove that we know what we're doing with regards to monthly accounting cycles for our distributors, we'll get permission to take over the world and sell music everywhere except for the Antarctic. (Sorry no yoga music for penguins)
  2. What's that weird looking, half transparent box in the middle of the homepage? [+]
We recently implemented a pop-up box to offer people free music, which we love doing. But people who were visiting our site before we implemented the pop-up box are left with a confused browser.

To fix this, you’ll need to clear your cookies and empty your cache.

Please note that doing this is completely safe, and is actually a good practice to do from time to time to ensure on-going security and health for your computer!
  3. Why can't I tell how long a playlist is? [+]
Unfortunately it’s a legal issue because a playlist needs to be treated as a group of songs and not as a product in-and-of itself. In legal terms it’s referred to as a 'decompiling clause'.

A decompiling clause is a way of record labels ensuring their music is paired with music they feel suitably supports their product.

Therefore, the system has to treat the songs separately and can't 'compile' the time of each song into a total playlist length.

We're working hard to demonstrate our ideas to record labels and distributors so that you can know how long your yoga playlist really is without having to add up the times of each song.

In the mean time, your patience and understanding is very much appreciated.
  4. What is the MY TRACKS thing all about? [+]
It's a way of storing songs that you like but aren't sure you want to purchase yet.

Another name for it is a Wish List.

To store a song in your My Tracks area simply click the HEART shaped button
next to any song, album or playlist and it will automatically be stored in your My Tracks area for later when you want to go back and make a final decision.

To look at what’s stored in your My Tracks area, simply click on the 'MY TRACKS' link at the top of the page. If you decide you want to buy a song that is posted there, simply click the BUY button to add it to your cart, or REMOVE to get rid of it from your My Tracks area.

My Tracks will automatically save your selections for next time you visit us, so you don’t need to worry about loosing any information if you decided to log out, our power down your computer.

Why can't I leave comments on a playlist, teacher, artist or album page?
Because we wanted the site to have a clean look and feel to it.

We love hearing what people have to say, which is why we have feedback forms, comment sections on our blog, and a facebook page.

If you feel that we made an error and should enable user comments and ratings please let us know, please contact us.

Music Player

  1. The player is causing my web browser to crash over and over again. [+]
This one is definitely frustrating! It's due a bug with something called flash. The fix is three steps: Update your browser, update your flash player and restart your browser. Click a browser below to learn how to perform an update:
  2. I'm having trouble clicking on the waveform in the player to listen ahead in the song? [+]

  3. What song is currently playing in the player? [+]
If you look just above list of songs loaded in the player, you’ll see the waveform. That’s a visual version of the sound waves that helps people see how the song progresses.

Just above the waveform you should see in yellow text, ‘Now Playing:’ and the song name.

If you don’t see that, you most likely need to update your Flash Player.

Shopping Cart

  1. Where do my songs go after I click BUY? [+]
They go into your shopping cart, which gets automatically updated in the top right corner of the page.

Click there or on the Shopping Cart icon above it anytime to be taken to your shopping cart for final checkout.

Two video tutorials we’ve made to help demonstrate this process are:
  2. Why can't I import my songs directly from YogiTunes.com into iTunes? [+]
This is a very complicated issue that raises more questions that one would imagine at first. But the main reason is because one tool needed for doing this would be a custom downloader that gets installed on your computer and we currently don't have the resources to develop one.

It's top of our list with regards to priorities... but first we have to prove that people like our store before we can raise more capital for development!

  3. Where do my songs go after I checkout and start the download process? [+]
Your web browser always puts downloaded files in the same place. Each browser has individual settings that dictate where on your computer this is.

Once you start downloading songs from YogiTunes, they will begin downloading to this predetermined location, and into a folder called ‘My Downloads’.

On most Windows computers, the default location is a folder called ‘Downloads’ in your ‘My Documents’ area.

If you use Firefox, Chrome or Safari, setting or checking the location of your downloads folder is very easy. For Internet Explorer, it’s more complicated. So unless you’re an experienced user we recommend finding the Downloads folder or if you’re having trouble finding them try performing a search for ‘My Downloads’ or for the name of one of the songs you purchased.

From there you can drag/drop your songs into any player or onto any mobile device.

iTunes

  1. So how do I import my songs from YogiTunes.com into iTunes? [+]
The first step is to create a new playlist in iTunes and name it something that makes sense to you. Like “YogiTunes Music” or “Vinyasa Flow Music”...

Next you simply drag and drop your YogiTunes downloaded songs into the new iTunes playlist and voila - your songs are now in iTunes.

In order to avoid duplicate files on your computer there are some iTunes settings you should know about... to learn about this and more, watch this ‘How to Make a Playlist in iTunes’ Tutorial Video:
  2. How do I recreate a Teacher Playlist from YogiTunes in iTunes? [+]
In v2.0 we hope to solve this with our custom downloader... for now the easiest way is to simply refer to the playlist page on YogiTunes.com to see the order of songs for any given playlist.

    Manual, we know!

But we're working hard on a more automated solution and TRULY appreciate your patience and understanding. If we waited to launch the service until everything was perfect, we might never get there!
